Nursing Student Renewal Application

Apply by March 15.


Renewal applicants must be planning to study nursing and be a graduate of Belton High School, Raymore-Peculiar High School, or Grandview High School. Renewal applicants must have previously received a scholarship from Cass Community Health Foundation. Scholarships will be presented to the students that best exemplify the following characteristics in their essay:

  • Abiding interest in the welfare of others
  • Inspires others to be their very best
  • Has served as a role model for others
  • Personal integrity
  • Involvement and commitment to the community

*APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

Only applicants pursuing nursing who graduated from Belton High School, Raymore-Peculiar High School, or Grandview High School may reapply for a scholarship. Renewal applicants must have previously received a scholarship from Cass Community Health Foundation. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Selection is primarily based on the essay component of the application. 

  • Essay: The essay MUST include your name in the upper right-hand corner and NOT exceed one page. Selection is primarily based on the essay component of the application.The essay should answer the following questions. 
    1. What factors influenced your choice of a nursing or health career? 
    2. What are your career goals? 
    3. Why should you receive a scholarship? 
  • Letter of Recommendation: Must be on official letterhead and signed by faculty member who has taught you in a college level course. Letters from high school teachers who taught a class for college credit are not accepted. Letters from advisors or college or university staff members are not accepted. If the applicant has opted for recommendation letter to remain confidential, please upload document stating that letter will be sent directly to the foundation. 
  • Letter of Acceptance from Nursing Program: If you are applying for your junior or senior year, upload a copy of your acceptance letter from your school’s nursing program.
  • Official Transcript: An official transcript from your college or university must be emailed to scholarships@casscommunityhealth.org. Your college or university must email your official transcript; transcripts submitted by students are not eligible.

*DEADLINE

The deadline to apply is March 15. If all portions of the application, including the recommendation letter and official transcript, are not received by the deadline, the applicant will be ineligible. Award notifications will occur by May 1.

Please note that you must submit all information at the same time. You will not be able to start your application and come back to it at a later time.
